"For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

To use “grace” as an excuse to continue in sin means you know nothing of true grace. Grace has saved you FROM SIN and from the old way of Adam’s humanity. Your life has nothing to do with the old nature, but has everything to do with Christ. You are a brand new creature in Christ today! Living as a New Creation in Christ is the most enjoyable thing you can imagine. You are ALIVE TO GOD! hallelujah!

This is not a command “not to sin” but it is a declaration of independence FROM SIN! What profit has all that junk had for you anyway except heart-ache and heart-break? Moments of “fun” that ended in boredom, loss and a false-sense of fulfillment - it is all counterfeit.

Instead, your new way of living (as a grace-junky) produces LOADS of LOVE, JOY AND PEACE. It really is a never ending flow of holy intoxication in union with Christ Jesus! Such a better existence :-)

So what shall we say then? CHANGE YOUR STINKIN’ THINKIN AND START RESTING IN THE TRUTH OF WHO YOU ARE IN JESUS AND WHO JESUS IS IN YOU. SET YOUR MINDS ON THOSE THINGS! CONSIDER SIN AS NON-EXISTENT TO YOU. IT LITERALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. AND CONSIDER YOURSELF WIDE AWAKE TO GOD-REALITIES ALL DAY LONG. HE LOVES YOU!!! This is amazing… WOW!

Meditate on these passages below! God bless you today!

“Since YOU WERE brought back to life with Christ, focus on the things that are above—where Christ holds the highest position. 2 Keep your mind on things above, not on worldly things. 3 You have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:1-3

“Whoever is a believer in Christ is a new creation. The old way of living has disappeared. A new way of living has come into existence.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

“What should we say then? Should we continue to sin so that God’s kindness will increase? 2 That’s unthinkable! As far as sin is concerned, WE HAVE DIED. So how can we still live under sin’s influence?” Romans 6:1-2

“We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them.” 1 John 5:18

"Translation of the cliché’ “Walk”: When a Christian talks about their walk, they are talking about how their relationship to Christ feels. It is a touchy-feely gauge, with no bearing in reality, as all of God’s children are in fact loved by their creator and held in His hands regardless of how they may be feeling at the moment."

"The person of faith does not dare rest on human reason. He or she does not reject the place of human reason, but he or she knows that there are things human reason cannot do."

Complete in Christ

Scripture presents two aspects of being complete before God:

First, we are instantly made complete in Christ in our legal position (justification).

Second, we progressively become  “complete in obedience” in our living condition before God (sanctification).

You are complete in Him (Col. 2:10)!

levi macallister: a man of [too] many words: Initial Thoughts (pre-course musings on Discipleship)

levithepoet:

I always thought that discipleship carried with it the implication of justification as its starting pistol, although I’m not sure why, considering Judas was discipled along with the eleven other apostles throughout the duration of Jesus’ ministry, and (although I suppose this is a disputed…

Seriously. So much truth. Thank you Jesus!

"I do not always have the answers which help me make sense of things, because God’s purposes are often accomplished through the very opposite of what I would deem necessary, or desirable. For example, my dad commits suicide and God uses the action which Luther the Reformer would call “alien” to His nature to result in action that “belongs” to His nature: namely, my family’s deepening dependance upon Jesus to be our treasure and unshakable foundation. We are given “the privilege to suffer for [Christ]” (Phil 1:29). This seemingly backwards “foolishness” is first and foremost seen at the cross, where God the Father wills the suffering of God the Son, for his ultimate glorification and our redemption."
